Colorful Carmel Bites

These tasty little treats are a favorite at my house resulting in a shelf life of about 1 1/2 days.  What I really like is how easy and quick they are to make.  Here's the simple recipe:

1 cup plus 6 tbls all-purpose flour, divided

1 cup old-fashioned oats, uncooked
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup mini M&M's
1 cup chopped pecans
2/3 cup caramel ice cream topping

Preheat oven 350 degrees.  Combine 1 cup flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt.  Blend in melted butter to form crumbly mixture.  Press half crumb mixture onto bottom of 9 x 9 baking pan; bake for 10 minutes.

Next, blend remaining 6 tbls flour with caramel topping; pour over top

Combine remaining crumb mixture with M&M's and pecans; sprinkle over caramel layer.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

WALLAH!  Yummy, melt in your mouth goodness.  WARNING:  Ingesting these will require chasing it with a tall cold glass of milk.
