An Artsy Touch

Some people got it and some don't. I'm one of the ones who don't but, my Dad is one of the lucky ones who does. He, along with the rest of his family, is a gifted painter. We have always encouraged him to do more with his hobby but, he never pursued it and was always too critical of his work.

For each of the girl's birthdays, my Dad hand painted stools for them. Each has it's own cute design along with their names painted on them. Now that Holly can just about see over the bathroom sink, she uses her stool to give her the boost she needs to be right in line with bigger sister while brushing their teeth.

I decided I wanted to try my hand at it since we have a birthday party coming up. My Dad was gracious enough to come to my house and get me started. He did the drawing and some of the painting but then left the rest for me to do. I like the finished product but, you can tell it's lacking my Dad's artsy touch. i.e. shading, highlighting ect. Here are pictures of each stool below.

I cheated and used rub on frogs for the side. I know you were probably thinking, Wow, those frogs look great.

I agree, your Dad has a true gift, he could be making a fortune selling those stools.

Hey - you don't do a bad job yourself.

Dad under estimates his talents.
