It was mid afternoon when these pre-historic looking birds (also referred to as rafters when in a grouping) came wondering one-by-one into our yard. I shot the above image inside thinking I'd surely spook them if I went outside. But, their calm strut and obliviousness gave me the green light to attempt to get a closer look. To my surprise, there was 5 or 6 more ahead of this 3 pack marching into a wooded area behind our house. Too bad it wasn't November.
Have a wild turkey kind of day!!
