Georgia Bound

Last week we packed our bags and headed south bound on route 95 until we reached our destination...Georgia. My mom and stepdad have a place in Brunswick, GA and they were nice enough to let my family stay there on our vacation. Thanks G.J. and Jer!!

Brunswick, GA is located along the Atlantic coast with great shelling beaches on St. Simons and Jekyll Islands. Georgia's coastline is a hidden gem with beaches that aren't so crowded with more locals than tourists buzzing around. It's also very close to Fernadina Beach located in Florida where you'll find great shopping and of course, picturesque towns and coastlines.

Our week was chocked full of fun beginning with our shrimp boat ride where you eat fresh boiled shrimp during a two-hour excursion. YUMO!!

Everyday we were either on the beach or wading in the community splash park/pool. The girls really enjoyed that but they had fun jumping the waves on the beach, too.

We also got to do some fishing. Matt thought that the girls would enjoy the thrill of catching something, possibly even a shark. Sure enough, they hooked a couple of small Black Tip Sharks and trapped two hermit crabs in the crab trap. Nothing to brag about, but it was a fun experience and everyone left happy (including Matt, who I think the fishing trip was really for.)

Here are a few pictures from our trip. Enjoy!
