Fun Monday

Our assignment for Fun Monday has been given by Church Lady and our assignment is to post a picture or something patriotic for Memorial Day. My internet was down all day and I didn't have my camera handy to capture a true moment from today so the only thing I have is a picture from the internet.

Hope everyone had a chance to remember the fallen heroes of this country today.

Party Time

Aye, Aye, Aye...I'm trying to catch my breath from all of the fun we had over the weekend. Saturday we went to my neighbor's house for a 70th Birthday party. We arrived at 2:30 and didn't leave until 10:00 and people were still partying hard when we left. Those farmers know how to throw a good party. Sunday we hosted our own party celebrating Gabby's 6th birthday. I managed to entertain 13 kids in the rain. We set up the party in our garage so it really didn't matter about the mud, grass and wet shoes. That's what garages are for. Luckily, the rain stopped long enough for us to get our scavenger hunt under way but as luck would have it, the fine mist started falling again. We kept going anyway and the kids had a great time. I'm not so sure about the adults, though. Gabby had a wonderful Birthday and that's all that matters.

Here it is Monday and I'm feeling sleep deprived already...aye...aye...aye!! I need sleep. Here are a few pictures from Gabby's party.

Guilty Pleasure

My two girls are great breakfast eaters. They'll eat eggs, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, and cereal. Recently, they've discovered a new breakfast item that's right at the top of their list and must have every morning until they're gone. This really isn't a "new" item in fact, it's hot cakes but what makes it so appealing is the Hershey Kiss I place on the top one just as I'm pulling them from the microwave while they're piping hot.

By time I serve them their 3 hot cakes, the Hershey Kiss has left a chocolate trail in the syrup and butter concocting a perfect melt in your mouth experience.

I do feel guilty giving them candy drenched in syrup for breakfast, but if you can see the pleasure in their eyes, it's so worth it. Plus, they eat every last bite and they're not bugging me an hour later for a "snack".

Guilty pleasure is a good thing. Try it. You'll love it!

Here's one of the little goats we'll be bringing home at the end of June. Ain't she the cutest? Her name is Olivera. The breeders picked out the name and I think we'll keep it the same

Tilghman Island - The Pearl of the Chesapeake Bay

During our visit to St. Michaels, MD, Matt and I ventured down to the lazy waterfront town where we found an unspoiled and authentic feel. The island is separated from the mainland but is easily accessed by drawbridge.

Memories of Mother's Day

Mother's Day was perfect. First we went to a Nursery in search of a Hydrangea or Lilac bush. We weren't impressed with the selection so we went to Lowes where I set my sights on a beautiful Hydrangea called Endless Summer. It will bloom all summer with beautiful pink blooms.

From there, we went to MiMi and Pops house for a cook out and eat in. The darn wind made the air too chilly to eat outside so, we made our plates and found a warm comfy spot inside.





The kids were not fazed by the weather and played and played and played.

Peek-A-Boo

As I walked our yard aimlessly looking for a great picture to take, I felt a presence. Something told me to look up and when I did, this cutie was starring me down. I know he wanted desperately to be there by my side because he LOVES being outdoors where he can run and play. I had to get this picture first.
